Hi! I’m Nicole, and I believe in the transformative power of therapy.
My journey into this field began with a deep curiosity about the human mind and a desire to help others navigate their mental health challenges. As Maya Angelou once said, “We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.” This quote beautifully captures the essence of personal growth and transformation, which I strive to support in my clients.
My own experiences with anxiety, depression, and trauma have deeply influenced my approach to therapy. During my senior year of college, I faced significant mental health challenges and felt hesitant to seek help due to concerns about how my family would react. In my culture, turning to therapy isn't always seen as the first option. I decided to give it a shot because I was at rock bottom and I will forever be grateful for taking that step. The experience showed me just how powerful and impactful therapy can be. These personal challenges have given me a deep empathy for the struggles many people face and have fueled my passion for psychology. I began my academic journey with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Indiana University-Bloomington, where I developed a strong foundation in understanding human behavior. It was in my “Abnormal Psychology” class that my interest in counseling was truly ignited.
Currently, I am pursuing my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University. My training includes a variety of therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, and person-centered approaches. I am dedicated to creating a safe and non-judgemental space for my clients, where they can explore their thoughts and emotions openly. My approach is client-centered and strengths-based, focusing on empowering clients to overcome their challenges and achieve personal growth.
I see therapy as a shared journey, where we work together to navigate your path toward healing and self-discovery. I’m here to support and walk alongside you every step of the way. If you're ready to take that next step, let’s embark on this journey together!
